Choose How You Move logoA team of Travel Advisors will be out and about in Stratford-upon-Avon over the next few weeks, helping people make the right travel choices to save them money, time and help keep active.

The Travel Advisors are part of Warwickshire County Council’s “Choose How You Move” initiative, which is all about encouraging people to choose more sustainable and healthy ways to travel.

They will be motivating Stratford residents to re-evaluate their travel choices, focusing their efforts on areas of the town that have the highest car usage and are home to those that tend to have the longest commute to work. Read more of this post

Could you be part of a top team of travel advisors tasked with encouraging the people of Stratford-upon-Avon to choose more sustainable and healthy ways to travel?

Warwickshire County Council is on the hunt for at least six temporary Travel Advisors for its new Stratford “Choose How You Move” project.

The travel advisors, who are being recruited through JMP Consultants, will be given the job of motivating Stratford residents to re-evaluate their travel choices, focusing their efforts on areas of the town that have the highest car usage and are home to those that tend to have the longest commute to work.

After an unbeatable year for cycling in the UK in 2012, British Cycling is on the hunt for the next generation of Ride Leaders in Stratford-upon-Avon to help inspire more people in the area to get on their bikes and have fun.

Warwickshire County Council are supporting the ‘Skyride’ initiative as part of their work to encourage people to use more sustainable forms of transport, such as cycling, to access the new Stratford Parkway train station when it opens.

After the Olympics gold rush: Cycling tops national average in Stratford district

bikeWarwickshire County Council has welcomed the latest results from Sport England’s Active People survey, which have revealed that the number of regular cyclists in Stratford-on-Avon district is above the national average.

It follows a year of success which not only saw extraordinary Olympic cycling achievements at London 2012, but also Britain’s first Tour de France winner.

The Sport England results show that 4,800 people (5% of the adult population) in Stratford district are cycling at least once a week, beating the national average of 4.5%. Read more of this post
